This is another "Indian" actor....but she actually looks sort of east Asian!
Full name Udita Goswami, and her interview
Udita Goswami owes her unique looks to her mixed parentage. Her mother's from Shillong, her father's from Benaras and her grandmother is Nepalese. A fresh face and a waif-like frame; "I am aware I don't look like the typical Bollywood heroine. But that's the way I am and I am not going to get any implants or anything else."![]()
Udita has now signed up a talent management company called Red Carpet. "I will not go back to modeling...I cannot go back to modeling. It's like I have tasted blood now," she says of her decision to continue acting. "I have just one brother who is a music composer and I intend pushing him to give his career a boost. Why shouldn't I use my contacts to help my family," Udita queries.
"Marriage will have to wait," says the chirpy twenty-one-year old actress, but adds as an after-thought, "If I find the right guy, I might just get married even tomorrow. Or maybe, I will wait till forty." And the man she marries will have to be, "a simple guy. Not an out-going person, who likes dancing, clubbing and drinking. He would have to be somebody intelligent, like a doctor, someone who perhaps could change me too. Basically a homely guy."
Udita claims to be a lot more mature than girls her age. "I've been independent since 17. I run my family. I tell my parents to save their money for later. So responsibility has always been a part of my life. Even at 20, I always thought like a 25 or 26 year-old. Now after doing this movie, which has been such a learning experience; both physically and mentally difficult, I think like a 30-year-old."
The first thing that strikes you about 21-year-old Udita Goswami is her honesty. Devoid of any pretensions, she makes no bones about her filmi aspirations, her determination to promote her musician brother and her rather unusual expectations of the man she will marry. She tells it like it is.
While most models are happily gyrating in raunchy item numbers, Udita decided to be picky and turned down even the big banners that came her way. "Even when I started my career as a model, I was very choosy about my work, though I was at the time a nobody. I didn't want a role where I would be reduced to dancing like a bimbette."
'Paap' had her teaming up with hunky fellow model John Abraham, whom she considered the sexiest man alive till she acted with him. "I had done a few shows with John and on the ramp he looks like a demi-god. When I got to know him as a person, all that awe slipped away. Acting with him was a really good experience as he is from the same field and I could relate to him."
Udita describes herself as a homebody, who abhors partying and is extremely close to her family. "My family was always there for me from the start. Whether things work out for me or not, I know that my family will still support me and that is most important." For her, being separated from her family was the most trying experience during 'Paap'. "We were shooting in a place where there was no access to anything; no television, no telephone, nothing...that was still fine by me because when you are there to work, you work. But when I fell ill, I was hospitalized in a place where there wasn't even a loo, I was on an IV drip and my family was nowhere near me...that really affected me."
Another interview where Udita reveals more about herself.
Udita Goswami
Model-turned-actress
Udita Goswami >"I Will do item numbers when I am a big star because at this stage I don't want people to think that I also took the shortcut to films."
Udita Goswami > I don't know about the boyfriend bit but yes it is difficult to live alone anywhere in the world especially I have always lived with my family so I am finding it a little difficult.
Udita Goswami > First of all I don't think I look hot but thanks anyways. In fact I have just started working out. Previously, I used to do nothing (in the fitness regime area).
Udita Goswami > Anybody can get into modeling. You just need to be a pretty face. But in acting, you have to have talent. Not (just) anybody can be a good actor.
Udita Goswami > Definitely, if I get a good film [from Hollywood]. In fact I have 2-3 offers right now [because of her international looks]. I am working on them. Let's hope it works out.
Udita Goswami > No, I don't have a boy friend, sorry to sound filmi. And my birthday is on the 9th of Feb.
Udita Goswami > I am basically from Dehradun, MTV spotted my pictures (not a portfolio) and I was the winner of MTV model Mission 2. That's how I got my commercial break. But someone who spotted me was this fashion photographer called Anand Seth and I did my first fashion feature with him. Two years later I wanted to leave it (modelling) when I was still in demand and the movie offer was to good for me to say no.
Ending with a great pic of a gorgeous girl...who has no boyfriend!

Asian virgins

The Asian actress Preity Zinta (Zinta: what a cool name!) said recently that while her latest movie is about an unmarried couple living together, it's not something she would do herself.
Zinta's latest Hindi movie, Salaam Namaste is about two young Indians living and working in Melbourne, Australia, where they are trying to escape overbearing families back home. The man and woman start out as friends and later move in together. "I'm very independent. If I believed in live-in relationships, I would have already done it by now," Zinta, 31, reportedly said in an interview.
Another hot actor Malika has also spoken out about virginityLet her 17 kisses on screen not fool you. Bindaas babe Mallika Sherawat is pure as driven snow and wants the world to know it.
She thinks sex is fun and has no qualms about getting down and dirty before marriage. "To be honest, I am still a virgin because I haven't found the right person to get into a relationship. But personally I find the idea of a girl preserving her virginity for her husband quite outdated and repulsive. It is this kind of societal repression that is driving the youth to frustration and giving rise to crimes against women. The need for sex is natural and the more you seek to curb it, the stronger will be the backlash," she insists.
Mallika is not the only one who wants sex out of the closet. There are others as comfortable discussing matters carnal as they are about slipping into the barely-there outfits for their films.
According to Priyanka Chopra: "A healthy sex life is vital to a person's well-being, never mind if it's before or after marriage. Your body should be your only guide in deciding whether to have a physical relationship or not."
Despite her lack of inhibitions, the former Miss World feels sex should be a private affair. "For example if you were to ask me if I am a virgin, I would consider that too much of a personal question to reply. But while I may not tell you whether I have had sex or not, I would certainly have no problems getting intimate with a person of my choice in case that is what I want. After all sex is no different from other things that you do in life," she says.
This is Priyanka:
Another Asian actress, and former Miss Universe, Sushmita Sen says, "Virginity has lost its meaning today. And it's true for a man as well as a woman. No one investigates whether a woman or a man is virgin or not before getting into a relationship.Everyone knows that sex is an experience of life." Sushmita is a single mother; in the picture above she is with her daughter Renee.
Kareena kapoor another India star was involved in some gossip involving the "virgin" question:The recent fiasco over lip locked smooches involving Kareena and Shahid, the biggest hot topic in Bollywood is when Kareena lost her virginity. Is she virgin?
An agitated Kareena Kapoor has said she'll do everything to protect her dignity after pictures published in a Mumbai tabloid showed her in an intimate situation with boyfriend Shahid Kapur. "I’m not this kind of girl. I’ve an illustrious family name to uphold."

Virginity and celebrities
True Love Waits (TLW) is an international Christian group that promotes sexual abstinence outside of marriage for teenagers and college students. TLW was created in April, 1993, and is sponsored by LifeWay Christian Resources. It is based on Christian views of human sexuality that require one to be faithful to one's husband or wife, even before marriage.
In addition, they promote what they consider "sexual purity", which encompasses not only abstaining from intercourse before marriage, but also abstaining from sexual thoughts, sexual touching, pornography, and actions that are known to lead to sexual arousal.
This notion of virginity and sexual abstinence is of course EXTREME. But the topic of virginity is apparently very important in the two American continents (and perhaps even more in Asia and Africa...leaving out slutty Europe on its own!) There is even a young lady (late 20s) with a blog dedicated entirely to her virginity:
"Allow myself to introduce myself. I am in my late 20s and living in Los Angeles, CA. I have no kids nor am I married. I have 2 tattoos, a tongue piercing, and am 99.99% disease free (pretty proud of that one.) I do date and have been in a serious relationship: he must've been with me literally just for my personality; it definitely wasn’t cause I was good in the sack.
Blake asks “Wow, are you really fat or something or like deformed? A 28 year old female virgin, I mean goddamn. Its not that hard.”
Comment by Blake — December 18, 2006 @ 7:57 pm
Answer: Overweight and deformed people are getting more play than I am. I work out and 2 years ago I finally had my third eye removed along with the third nipple.
My decision to stay sex free was made a long time ago. I am not doing it for religious reasons because I am not religious. Yes I do get sexual urges as any other warm blooded American, British, Canadian, African or any other race I’ve left out (politically correct) would get...although I do question if the Amish do?
Some other specs: hate seafood, can drink like a fish, kisses on the first date but I don’t put out on the first, second, and so on. Not quite sure if I’ve gotten to third-base. What is third base these days anyways?"
Virgin Files
She doesn't let out her name or place of work etc. Then there are celebrities....publicly coming out (about not letting anyone in/on/near them?). The lovely Adriana Lima featured earlier is one; seen here with her boyfriend:
Then there is Lisa Kudrow another publicly declared pre-nuptial virgin:
"My virginity was something I had decided was very precious, something that I owned, to give away. It was an honor I was bestowing on a young man, and he had to be worthy of it."
Highly motivated to have sex with only one lifelong partner, Lisa kept sex out of her dating relationships until she married her husband, advertising executive Michael Stern.
Erika Harold, the 2003 Miss America, also declared:
"Ever since I can remember, I've had a commitment to abstinence. I was fortunate enough to have been raised by two loving parents who encouraged me to set high standards, to value myself, and to save myself for marriage. But I grew up knowing that I was lucky and that not every young person had the love and support that I did. I saw many of my peers use sex to try to find that love and acceptance. But instead of being able to fill that void, many of them became teen parents, contracted diseases, and had their hearts broken."
The singer-actress Jessica Simpson was also public about her intact hymen till marriage:
"I believe in one true love, so I really wanted this song not to be cheesy or preachy but rather just truthful, because I believe in abstinence and commitment. The lyrics come straight from a dream I had and are so personal and real to me, because I know that innocence can be sexy and that you can be confident and at ease with your sexuality and your womanliness without having sex. I am."
Brooke Shields, a virgin till she was 21 or 20, she was used in the anti-teen pregnancy campaign.

Singer Jordin Sparks has also pledged to remain a virgin until her marriage.
Hilary Duff also went public with her virginity claims:
“It’s hard having a boyfriend who’s older because people just assume. But [virginity] is definitely something I like about myself,” Duff said.
But Hilary, whose mom described her as a “very chaste young woman” in the same article, denies she ever discussed her virtues since she’s dated Madden. “The thing is that I didn’t say that. I wouldn’t say that. I don’t know how [the writer] got that out of what I said,” said the 18-year-old singer and actress, who has totally confused the Gossip as to who said what, or what the hell she’s even talking about.
According to Hilary, it’s not something that she talks about or wants people to focus on. Nor is her sex life even appropriate to think about, dammit! “Whose business is that?” she bristles.
And then there's Katie Holmes. The cute girl pledged to remain a virgin until her marriage to Hollywood hunk Tom Cruise. This actually led to a hot debate on whether the attractive Katie was lying about being a virgin.
