Although she portrays a sexy brunette in House, Olivia Wilde is a natural blonde. Wilde's most famous role as a blonde was in The OC, where she played bartender Alex Kelly, the bisexual love interest of Mischa Barton's character Marissa:
"When I kiss a girl for a part, people think it's sexy. But if two guys kiss, suddenly there's a backlash. It's a double standard. Honestly, I think we're all bisexual in some way," says Wilde.
After her many smooches with Mischa on The OC Olivia Wilde says that she still gets letters from sexually confused girls who consider Wilde's character on that show a role model. The character of Alex was actually bisexual, which became more a psychotic stalker towards the end of the same-sex relationship. Olivia also dislikes the characterization of her role in House as "lesbian", since Dr. Remy Hadley, nicknamed Thirteen, is actually bisexual.
Wilde tells The TV addict, "I think it's high time people start to get used to alternative lifestyles on television. Whether it’s sexuality or whatever. People are still getting used to interracial relationships on television and of course in the world we live in now, it's time for people to become accustomed to that too."
Megan Fox who admitted to a lesbian relationship when she was 18, described Olivia Wilde as "mesmerizing" and said she could have a relationship with her. Olivia herself says she has a girl crush on Angelina Jolie.
Olivia Wilde says she wanted to be an actress since she was 2, but seriously took up theater in boarding school. She was born Olivia Jane Cockburn on March 10, 1984, in New York with her father's side of the family being Irish. Once she ran away from home and to "shape her up" Olivia's parents sent her to the Philips Academy in Andover. Apart from theater Olivia enjoyed step dancing and horseback riding at this sprawling boarding school. Despite her slim figure and striking looks Wilde did not have any interest in modeling: "It would be so depressing to be a model and not get to say a word. There's no personality involved."

Olivia got work as a casting assistant and while working on the Elisha Cuthbert movie Girl Next Door was cast for a small role. She had changed her surname to Wilde while doing a play by the famous English author Oscar Wilde and also because many in her family are journalists and authors and, "It's kind of a tradition in my family to pick pen names for writers."
Olivia Wilde was also cast in a Jerry Bruckheimer show on Fox about the porn industry called Skin, which was dropped after six episodes. After becoming popular on The OC Wilde did movie roles in Alpha Dog and Turistas, and was also cast in a the series The Black Donnellys. Olivia Wilde will be seen this year in Northwood and The Year One. In 2011 she has a role in the highly anticipated sci-fi flick Tron 2.0.

For her role as a warrior in Tron 2.0 Olivia Wilde is hitting the gym to get in shape. Otherwise Wilde told Women's Health that she exercises daily. She spins at a local studio. "I make fun of it, but it's amazing, because you have to push yourself through this resistance, which is so therapeutic," she says. "And they say you can burn nearly 800 calories in, like, 45 minutes if you push it to the highest level."
Olivia picked up bike riding after graduation when she took a year off and lived in Santa Monica, California. She also does Yoga, dabbles in karate, and hikes regularly with her dogs: a bulldog named Lola and a fluffy mutt that goes by Paco.
As for her diet Olivia Wilde has been a vegetarian for some time, and enjoys cheese and wine. Although she also admits to eating fish. Olivia is passionate about the environment; she got the cast and crew of House to recycle paper and had recycling bins set up. "If people can take small steps toward an organic life, it doesn’t seem so overwhelming," says Wilde in the inaugural issue of Organic Beauty Magazine.
At the age of 18 Olivia married Italian photographer and documentary filmmaker Tao Ruspoli. Tao also happens to be a titled Italian prince with a castle in Vignanello, Italy!![]()
Among her style tips Olivia tells Women's Health, "Always wear a dress that you can pee in. I wore an incredible dress to the Emmys, but I had never tried to pull it up. I had to take it off to go to the bathroom. I nearly ripped it off my body because I had to go so bad."
