Amber Heard breakout

Will 2010 be gorgeous Amber Heard's breakout year? Her first starring role, in the slasher pic All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, went unnoticed because the film premiered at film festivals but was never actually released. Amber has many upcoming projects this year.



Amber Heard in Saturday Night magazine, wearing flare pants by YMI Jeanswear. Amber told the mag, "I really love comedy and being able to have fun on set and let go and have a great time." Heard has two upcoming comedy releases, ExTerminators and The Joneses, the latter releasing on April 16 and in which Amber Heard has turned brunette.

Incidentally it was another comedy Zombieland which was something close to a breakout for Amber Heard, known till then mostly for her TV roles and for playing pretty girlfriends in movies. Another upcoming film which has Amber in a prominent role is The Rum Diary with Johnny Depp, based on a book by journalist Hunter S Thompson.

In an interview with the Toronto Star Amber describes herself as a fan of the author: "If I could write I would be in school for journalism. Wouldn't that be amazing? I would love to do what he did. There is a certain pop culture journalism that will in essence live forever. It really was an epoch, an era and he was in that place."

Amber Heard shows feminist sparks in her views on organized religion, movie role choices, and being a woman in Hollywood, but dislikes the label. She told V Magazine: "I don't necessarily like it when people call me a feminist, although I guess you could, but it's really just about being awake and not stupid. I mean, God forbid you are blonde, or pretty."



Jess Manafort (director), Brie Larson, Katrina Begin, Lyndsy Fonseca, Amber Heard and Leighton Meester, all stars of The Beautiful Ordinary at the movie's premiere in 2007. This coming of age movie was later released under the title Remember the Daze; Amber Heard and Leighton Meester will be seen together in Cowgirl Bandits, the remake of Thelma & Louise.

However 2010 may turn out for Amber, back home in Texas she goes back to being a regular person: "I still land in Texas and hop in the back of the pickup and am expected to help my dad out on the land, whether it’s running his dogs or helping my mom in the kitchen."






Amber Heard in the Spanish Vanidades magazine, wearing a Herve Leger dress, Brian Atwood shoes and jewelry by Neil Lane. She has told Saturday Night magazine: "I'm young and I'm single, and I definitely enjoy my private life. I'm not insecure, and I don't need to be validated by paparazzi. I want my career to speak for me." So private is the hot actress that most people don't know that Amber dated Mexican actor Valentino Lanus for 10 months between 2006 and 2007! Or at least that's what the Mexican newspapers claim.
